Did you know that Carpetright sell beds? They offer a great selection, and I thought I would show you three of my favourites today. One potentially for a child’s room, another for a master bedroom, and lastly a perfect bed for a guest bedroom.
A traditional white metal bed frame :
Both of my daughters have beds like this one, though my eldest has a daybed version rather than a standard one. They really are fantastic in a children’s room. They keep the bedroom looking light and airy, rather than bulky as a solid wood one can do. Important I think as children tend to have lots of possessions to fit in their bedroom. Metal frame beds also have large areas underneath them, perfect to add storage to. Under bed storage can be invaluable in a modern home and so simple to slide in and out, whether you use it for toys or extra storage for clothing.
I would also recommend a bed like this for children, as they grow with your child. They are classics, that don’t date, and would work with any colour scheme and as the tastes of your child change as they get older. This Alexis frame starts at £229 for a single bed.
A Divan with a statement headboard:
I always think that a divan bed looks and feels substantial. With a divan you can utilise the storage that is underneath it in the drawers, making it a great multi-purpose piece of furniture. For neatness addicts like me, the plus is you can’t see anything you are storing, and dust won’t accumulate either. It’s also a lovely bed if you like to dress a bed opulently, with box pleated valances and lots of pillow and cushions resting on the oversized headboard, gorgeous!
Definitely a practical solution, a double bed with two drawers start at £349 with an additional £70 for a headboard.
A solid wood bed :
When purchasing a bed for a guest bedroom, really it has to help keep it a usable room, perhaps for storage, but also a reflection of you. I love the idea of a wooden guest bed being an anchor for a room. Mixing perhaps older pieces that you have collected over the years in the room too. Again, great to add storage if needed. Wood has a warm homely feel to it, so perfect to welcome that overnight guest.
This Miami bed starts at £399 for a double bed frame.

Hello :o)
The top pic is gorgeous, I can’t imagine any girl not wanting a room like this. Its’ pretty and dainty with furniture that doesn’t rule the room!
As for headboards – a stunning headboard can create a fabulous feature in a bedroom, with little need for art work or mirrors above.
I agree that solid wooden beds definitely add warmth, but also hold a strong/bold presence in a space so thought should be given to other items needed and how best to furnish without over filling. The white linen and pale walls ensure the room is perfectly balanced and looks so inviting. Great post.
