My Friend Cayla Doll : Review & Giveaway

Set to be one of the top 10 Christmas toys is the My Friend Cayla doll. She not just your average doll. Yes she looks cute in her outfit and comes with a brush and mirror, so you child can interact with her by playing dress-up. She’s also pose-able with movable arms and legs. However the cool thing about her is that she is interactive, she talks to you, tells you stories, and even plays games with you.

Simple to set up. You do need to have batteries though, as there aren’t any included, which is disappointing.

1. So after installing the batteries, turn Cayla on.

2. Download the app onto you android or IOS device. You can see the links for this on THIS page.

3. Then turn on the bluetooth on, on your chosen devise. When this is completed Cayla will bleep.

4.Open the app and get started.

So far we’ve played tic tac toe with her and listened to some stories, which were both great. We’ve also been testing out the chatting to her the most though. She seems to like science and geography, cooking and food. By asking her simple questions, you do this when the listening charm around her neck lights up. Questions like, what’s her favourite food, does she like dogs? She does understand most questions, however there are times when she didn’t understand at all. When that’s the case, she said ‘I’m not sure’, or that she’ll ask a teacher for an answer to that question. She did once tell me that what I said was inappropriate, so I think she must of misheard me!

There are words built in that are banned/blocked ones but you can add others directly into the app if need be. If a blocked word was used, Cayla would for example reply…’I don’t want to talk about that’

Another lovely feature, is that through the app you can look at photographs of different things and Cayla will chat to you about them. Overall she is great fun, and I can see that children are going to love My Friend Cayla as a Christmas gift.
