Dying to give your lounge the VIP treatment? The main reason we tend to put off decorating is due to the effort involved. But sometimes it only takes a few minor changes to transform your living space for the better. These top tips from sofa manufacturer Couch can help you to transform your living room simply and effectively.
Add a Statement Sofa
The sofa is undoubtedly a key feature which can make or break a lounge. With the best intentions in the world, if your couch is uncomfortable, ugly or clashes with the décor it can have a detrimental impact on the rest of the room.
As the focal point of the room, a new sofa can breathe life into your surroundings and provides a great talking point for guests. Modernise a dated room with a printed fabric sofa or invest in a contemporary colour such as duck egg blue which you can mix with loud cushions to make a high impact.
However if it’s a classic sofa style you’re after then a Chesterfield could be just the ticket. A true investment piece, this signature sofa from the designers at Couch looks great paired against an exposed brick wall or retro furnishings.
Unlike the modern trend for cheaply-made sofas which wear easily and make a room look tatty, the Chesterfield only grows better with age. Over time your Chesterfield will boast a vintage, distressed appearance brimming with character.

Beautify on a Budget
Garnishing your lounge doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Spruce up your surroundings tenfold with zany light fixtures and quirky wall art. House plants are a particularly cheap option and are recommended in the colder months of the year because they purify air and reduce carbon dioxide.
During the winter we tend to keep the windows shut and venture outside less, so by introducing plants you can ensure the living room doesn’t get too stuffy and get a nature fix at the same time. Why not take the opportunity to do a spot of DIY by purchasing white plant pots and painting them all different colours?
Introduce a Theme
Whether it’s a dinner party or festival fancy dress, everyone loves a good theme. Give your lounge a new identity with your favourite film prints and cinema style seating or channel flower power with a floral printed sofa and fresh blooms.
Whether you opt for a regal theme with gold trimmed furniture or a Moroccan vibe with drapes and lanterns, the choice is yours.
So there we have it, beautifying on a budget, choosing a theme and adding a statement sofa can make all the difference to your living room.

You know we have been discussing a new sofa and this is the second post in minutes that has made me feel that it is destined to happen. Thank you for showing me what options are available with some background – it’s hard to tell sofas on their own.

Wow, that purple sofa is a fabulous visual, perfect for that large space. Adding feature furniture can be such an easy way to give a room an instant lift, be it a small chair to transform a dull underused corner, or a large sofa as above, which adds such style and dimension. It is important a room doesn’t feel disjointed though, so ensure there is a common theme, colour, style etc.

There are lots of these sofas being sold. Sofa Sofa, would be the first place I would try, which is where this sofa is from. Have you searched for purple velvet chesterfield? Then they should pop up with all the stockists. Stores like Arlo and Jacob, Wayfair and Swoon Editions.
