When you look at your home, do you see the jobs that need doing, the floors that need cleaning? Or do you see the memories that you have made there, and the treasures you have collected to make it your home and individual to you?
This is a favourite collection of mine, on a sidetable full of memories.
The latter is what I was thinking about I thought about when I was asked to write about the ‘Home I grew up in’ on the Hiscox blog. Our home, is made up of hard work and determination and so many memories. Seven years later and it is the home that we love, and it is full of memories everywhere we look. The places my youngest took her first steps, wedding and new baby photographs, and the fireplace and garden where we religiously take photograph of our children on the first day of school each September.
Earlier this month, Hiscox released a new TV advert ‘The House I Grew Up In‘ in it they tell the story of how our homes become more important to us as we progress through life. You can read more about, and see photographs of the house I grew up in here.

A lot of the time I just see the jobs that need doing, but I should take a step back and think of the memories, it’d be a lot less frustrating. xx
