Choice of lighting can make a real difference to a space. Before choosing lighting it’s important to understand what you need it for. I’m going to cover this in more detail, in a blog post soon. However for today, I wanted to show you, the new lighting that we have.
We’ve been looking for something to use in our seating area, in the kitchen diner for a while now. I was keen to keep to the classic/retro feel of our kitchen, but what we needed was some task lighting. Task lighting is something you use, when you need a light to do a specific job, in our case reading.
We went for this dar Osaka floor lamp that you can see in the images. It’s available from Lighting Majestic and the RRP is £149.20 however its discounted to £123.50 on the site. There is a choice of heads you can go for, we decided to go for the chrome and white version – RRP: £31.80 however Lightening Majestic it is less at £26.50. It arrived well packaged, and delivery was super quick, from when we ordered.
Height -172cm (67.7″) Diameter -64cm (25.2″) It’s important to buy a floor lamp of this type that is high enough too, so make sure you take note of the measurements.
I love that the style of the Anglepoise-style lamp mean it can be angled and lowered, making it the perfect task lamp. The light you use in a task lamp should be fairly bright too, at least feel brighter than the other in the room.
This Osaka lamp is fantastic quality, and feel heavy and substantial to use. The base feel particularly heavy so there is no risk of it toppling over.
