Welcome to another edition of I Love…formally known as I Love Mondays. This week I’m bringing it to you with a slight twist. Usually I hunt out new products or companies that I want to share with you, which I am still going to do. However this week, I have teamed up with three other bloggers and we have a challenge to find an item, that reflects our style. I was first to choose the item, and I went for outdoor planters. A tricky one I think, but lots of scope for finding something interesting.
We all are very different, but each of us, have a penchant for interiors and design. First up is the thrifty blog guru Becky from Thrifty Home, next was our contemporary lover Jen at Love Chic Living a UK Interior Design blog . Finally our Wayfair expert, and finder of all things rustic Penny. Who’s offering do you prefer, I would love to know.
So where to begin to find idea’s for garden planters? How about looking to Pinterest for inspiration. One of my most popular boards is Outdoor Living, where you can see lots of examples of different styles.

So what have I found for you? Well as my area of expertise is luxury, I decided to go down the bespoke route, and had great fun finding a bespoke planter, that I would LOVE to own.
This Corten Planter, which can be made bespoke to your specifications and delivered within 4-6 weeks from Iota Garden and Home.
The planters develop a gorgeous patina of copper, bronze and rust over around 3-9 months of being outside. It’s actually the metal protecting itself from the weather, but the effect really is stunning!
Think you recognise this? Well it’s actually the same steel (corten) which the Angel of the North is made from.
Here it is in all its glory:
So let your imagination run wild, where would you have a bespoke planter like this? How would you plant it up? Would you opt for architectural planting, or go against the look and fill with blouse cottage style plants?

Oh I am very torn now, because I love Antony Gormley. Great find Amanda – love the effect so much. Mine is cheaper tho 😉
Amanda Cottingham says
Haha, I’m sure it is cheaper!
Jen says
I nearly went for something very similar Amanda! Love these x
Amanda Cottingham says
Thanks Jen, great minds 🙂
Becky says
Oh i do like that Amanda!
Amanda Cottingham says
Thanks Becky, I’m rather chuffed!
Catherine says
VERY nice! I think I’d fill it with aromatic herbs and add some garden lighting to really showcase the patina at night. I love that you can have it made to fit your space perfectly too.
Amanda Cottingham says
Oh I am loving your thinking there Catherine! I win don’t I?? 😉
Nell says
What a stunning shade of orange – nothing at all like the colour I associate with rust! Grasses would look good in these if they were in my garden (which I WISH they were).
Amanda Cottingham says
It really is a stunning colour I agree, I am so lusting after them!
