I’ve been thinking more and more about what kind of blogger I am. I think I am settled on lifestyle as being a good enough description. As I do cover other things alongside interiors, like fashion, food and beauty. I keep coming back to a tag line of a ‘home loving traveller‘ too. I love spending time at home, that’s probably why working from home works so well for me, but I also love travelling, and discovering new places. I’ve been really lucky, going to places like Africa, America and many amazing places in Europe thanks to blogging. I’ve not done any travelling so far though this year though, and I’ve got to say I’ve got itchy feet because of that.
Sometimes though life bowls you a curve ball, and that’s exactly what’s happened this year, and there is going to be more staycations than vacations on the cards! 😉 That doesn’t mean we are not going to have fun. We have Merlin Annual passes, as well as our National Trust membership, a couple of trips to some friends who live a couple of hours away, have also been also planned. This month I’ve been working with Fat Face, and I wanted to show you a couple of items that I’m planning on wearing when I’m off on these day trips this summer.
So I took the home loving traveller, from the new Fat Face weekend collection, and tried to make them work in three different ways, with clothing I already had in my wardrobe.
First up I wore them together with a simple blue tank top. You can’t quite see the sandals, but they are red, I have a thing for red shoes, I must buy some more this season. A great casual, and comfortable outfit, which is perfect for sightseeing.
Next I thought I’d take the skirt which is elasticated at the waist, and wear it as a dress. I added a leather belt to bring it in at the waist, and a white cropped jacket. I was thinking this would work well on sunnier days.
I’ve got to say, I love a denim jacket, everyone should have one in their wardrobe, and this one is perfect to team with a dress, especially if you plan on staying out until the evening, and it gets a little nippy. Its a great fit, and a mid blue colour, which I prefer to the lighter denim ones. I wore it with a flowing maxi dress, that I think I’ll wear when we meet up with friends.
So that’s my three staycation outfits, what do you think?

Ooh get you looking all lovely and summery! You look fab by the way. I LOVE Fat Face, I think most of my recent clothes purchases have been from there, they just always seem to have styles and colours that suit me. I love their kids clothes too, I have picked up a few gorgeous bits for the kids from there too.

I LOVE how you’ve turned the skirt into a dress – so clever. Two great pieces you’ll wear loads. I wear my denim jacket endlessly! Hope you and yours are well lovely lady, Ax

Love them! I’m on the hunt for a denim jacket but haven’t had much success. I never know how to define my blog either … in the home and out and about … but that’s not really a genre is it? 😉

Loved the outfits… particularly the skirt/dress, what a clever way to have several outfits using just one piece!x
