We have a bedroom dilemma at the Ana Mum Diary house. You see I’m what my mum would call nesh by nature, that’s someone who feels the cold if you aren’t my mum reading this *waves*. Whereas my husband on the other hand, well he is more like a human radiator. I honestly think I could cook something on him, such is the heat that radiates from his body. This usually doesn’t cause any problems really, I mean in winter I only need give him a hug, and I’m back up to temperature on a chilly day! However in bed, I like to be warm and cosy, and he is the opposite. We have a fab mattress, that has really helped in terms of comfort, but as its memory foam, it really hasn’t helped my husband especially, as it makes him feel much hotter.
So we’ve been testing out a Slumberdown Airstream Mattress Topper. Definitely comfy, I’m a little bit like princess and the pea when it comes to comfort in bed. It was completely smooth, and doesn’t move around in the night, thanks for the elasticated straps. It’s actually 6 cm thick, so really feels padded underneath you. The test was though, if my other half felt it was cooler, and yes he did think there was a difference. It’s proven to be significantly cooler than memory foam thanks to Slumberdown’s clever Airstream technology.

Overheating is one of the main reasons that people wake through the night. If a person’s body temperature begins to get critically high, the body’s first defence is to wake itself up so the conscious mind can adjust their surroundings. You may go to sleep feeling comfortable, but if there’s no way for hot air to escape, the bed will heat up significantly through the night.
Unlike memory foam, the Slumberdown Airstream Topper contains breathable fibres, which allow air to flow freely through the topper and out through the mesh sides. This prevents heat from building up to critically high temperatures, so you have a better night’s sleep.
So I would definitely recommend the Slumberdown Airstream topper. If you need to know more, you can find more detailed information on the Slumberdown website.
