Do you have something in your kitchen that you really couldn’t live without? I asked 5 bloggers, myself included, what kitchen appliance were their favourite and why. Here is what they all said :

I’ve only got one recently, but now don’t know how I ever lived without a slow cooker. Working full-time, it is perfect as I can prepare ingredients the night before, throw them in the slow cooker in the morning, and dinner is ready by the time I get home. My favourite thing to do in the slow cooker is a shoulder of pork, rubbed the night before with a chipotle chilli and spice mix. This makes perfect pulled pork, from which many different meals and lunches for the week can be prepared.
My top gadget would be my blender. I use it every morning to make smoothies (peanut butter, frozen banana and milk if you’re interested!) and use it for soups, dips and sauces. It saves so much time, it is simple to use, takes up little space and is easy to clean.
I’d have to say my bread maker, we use it for pizza dough, hot cross buns and a variety of breads. We use it several times a week, I love the house smelling of freshly baked bread and when you get used to fresh bread you just don’t want shop bought. Yes you could make home made bread without a bread maker, but I’m no Paul Hollywood and haven’t got the patience to knead or wait for it to prove, my bread maker is like having Paul Hollywood right there in my kitchen!
Is it wrong to say I love my microwave? It reheats the coffee I never quite manage to get round to drinking, it heats up just the right amount of vegetables with no waste, and it also makes a mean syrup sponge pudding in a matter of minutes! It’s the perfect kitchen appliance.
I know I could wash the pots by hand, but for me the thing that really revolutionised my kitchen was when we got a dishwasher. I absolutely love it, you can find similar to the one we have at Amica. I can’t even imagine now not having one. It was used to sterilize the bottles when my youngest was a baby. I now use it to put sponges in to clean them every day so that they last longer. I have even cooked salmon in it once, yes really! I ditched my rubber gloves long ago, a dishwasher is all I need now!
What’s your favourite kitchen appliance?

I love the picture Vi paints of her Paul Hollywood stand-in 🙂 I’m without a dishwasher in my current abode and really miss one, mainly because you just can never get glasses quite as sparkly 🙁

All great appliances! (I don’t have a slow cooker but all the others I totally agree with). We coped without a dishwasher for years but now as a family of 5 we couldn’t manage without it. I think my own favourite is a stand mixer – it has enabled me to turn my hand to trying a bit of baking and now I find I love baking because of it.
