“I’m late! I’m late! For a very important date!” The White Rabbit – Lewis Carroll’s book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
I’m a stickler for being on time, I can’t stand being late. I don’t have my watch ahead of time, I know that’s a trick a lot of people use. I just make sure I try to get to place ahead of time, I plan I suppose. I think I’m quite respectful of other people’s time, and that’s why I’d never even consider keeping someone waiting. It sounds so simple writing it down, but I think it is essentially. Well it is for me anyway. Of course thing can happen, trains delayed for example, but I can hand on heart say my children have never been late for school, ever. How do you feel about lateness?
Watches are something I rarely buy. In fact I’ve had the same one for over 10 years. I absolutely love it, and it means the world to me. It was bought as a matching pair, to one my husband bought himself with a bonus he received one year. I really wanted a new one though, something that was more of a fashion watch. A larger face definitely, my eyes and I are not getting any younger. When I spotted the Chiswick (£125) from Watch Shop, I knew it was just perfect.
In tribute to Henry’s original watch from 1965 and with an approach that emphasizes watchmaking heritage, the 39mm ‘Chiswick’ has been reinvented for today. The classic proportions of the case flow seamlessly into a high double domed lens accentuating the subtle curves of the rich green opaline domed dial. The arched tip of the elongated seconds hand moves precisely, like a heartbeat, over the curved, raised hour markers with a timeless precision capturing the present as if nothing else were of importance.
So what do you think, it might have taken me 10 years to find a new one, but its great isn’t it?
Stephanie Moore says
That is such a lovely classic watch, the gold and green is so unusual but it works so well.
