If you live local to me, so in and around the Nottingham area, then I have an amazing shop that I insist (insist I tell you) you visit – Søstrene Grene. You can’t miss it, its in the Intu, Victoria Center, on the top floor, next door but one to the Disney Store ( I recommend splitting up and sending the kids in there) and opposite House of Frazer.
It’s an Aladdin’s cave of items that are stylish, beautiful, functional and affordable. Since its been open ( I think for around a year) I’ve been to this Danish store about 5 times. Each time leaving with my arms full of items, honestly, it’s that good. I think it’s a real hidden gem, that not that many people seem to know about and its products look far more high-end than their price tags.
A little bit of history…..
In 1973, the wonderful tale of Søstrene Grene began in Aarhus, Denmark. It is the story of the two elderly Grene sisters, Anna and Clara, who diligently work to create little, bright differences in the everyday. Anna and Clara are able to find beauty and happiness in even the smallest of things, and they hope to share their excitement with the rest of the world. Therefore, they have created a chain of retail shops that house a truly special atmosphere. Walking into one of these shops is meant to feel like entering an oasis where, at least for a moment, shoppers can take a break from the hectic pace of everyday life. In this way, the sisters seek to set the stage for wonderful experiences and joyful moments. Experiences that encourage people to explore and let their imaginations run free.
You really will be surprised by the things that they sell, I’m very fond of the ceramics and have major lust for the interior items. Also check out the stationery, gift wrapping, craft, kitchen items and toys.
There is always some new to see, as they introduce new items to the shelves every week.
With a curious and creative mind, even the smallest things can become something wonderful.

Oh, I love this shop!!!! I could spend hours in it. You could make up some lovely gifts by filling their beautiful jars etc. It is such a lovely shopping experience…All it needs is it’s own little coffee shop tucked away at the back and it would be absolute perfection!

I absolutely adore this shop. It’s so unique in comparison to most other homeware shops, yet affordable and everything has that scandi vibe which I love <3
