I’ve written a lot recently about my desk space, blogging and working from home. Last year I reorganised my office adding a new desk and chair, minimising what I had, decluttering and trying to give the area a more open feel, to help me concentrate in all honestly. It’s definitely worked, and has given me a new lease of blogging life, if you will. I love my job, but sometimes you just need to take a step back and reassess things. I think this is true whether you are freelance, work from home, or not.
So I have been looking at a few other areas that I could change. Firstly, I want to feel more professional day-to-day. In winter and spring, I live in jeans. Now I don’t think I’ll ever give them up, my uniform of jeans, t-shirt with a slouchy jumper, it’s set to stay, However, because I work from home, it doesn’t mean that some days I would like to be a little smarter. I wanted to add something with a little more structure to my wardrobe. I still wanted to be able to layer up and feel warm and comfortable, as that’s important to me too.
I spotted some great key pieces to add to my working wardrobe, like these amazing trousers, on the Esprit site today, that I’ll definitely be investing in. Made of sateen (I love that word) they would have enough ‘give’ in them to make them perfect to sit at my desk in, smart enough, if I need to go to meetings, and I wouldn’t feel out-of-place on the school run either. I think I would go for navy, as it’s a less harsh colour than black. I love that this style are flat fronted, a pear shaped ladies friend I think! These trousers should also go with lots of the other tops I already have, including some chunky knits I treated myself to before Christmas. They also have a high enough waistline to be flattering too.
I also spotted the white shirt pictured above with embroidery detail. Now I don’t think any women should be without a couple of white shirts in their wardrobe, and I’ve been looking for a new one for some time. I love that its smart but the all over pattern adds interest. With adjustable arm lengths, it makes it ideal for me, as I’ll be at my desk a lot typing, and I find shirts tend to be too short in the arm because I am above average height. This really annoys me when I’m typing. Finally I’m going to admit, I a bit addicted to tassels on clothing as well as pom poms, anyone else have this kind of embellishment love? I just love this Esprit Jacquard scarf, which ties in the navy, and has a pop of colour too.
I must admit I always wear slippers at home, but when I saw these Esprit trainers I think they would make the perfect alternative, they look so comfortable, but have a sporty smart look, just a little bit different I think to how I normally would dress in the day. Well, I think it, what do you think, do you love my blogging outfit wish list?

It is important that you make sure that before you make your purchases, you draft a list of what you need for your office.
