How to raise money online with Leetchi

Welcome back to the blog, and I’m so sorry for the break, lots has been happening behind the scenes, and I’ve been really busy on writing projects away from here. But I’m back, with lots of updates this week, with some things I’ve been testing out and loving. We’ve also been refreshing the garden a little, and I can’t wait to show you want we’ve been up to soon.

So today I wanted to show something which is huge all over the world, but has just started in the UK. Leetchi.com is an online group money collection platform with 7 million users in 150 countries, and launched in the UK in October 2016. It is a fast, easy and secure way for people to club together to raise money for a group gift, weekend getaway, creative project or a good cause!

There have been so many instances that myself and my friends have wanted to collectively raise money together, whether it was for charity or for an event or occasion.

So it got me to thinking what I would use it for. I think it’s perfect, as a way of friends who live remotely from one another to group together to raise money for charity, and create community spirit at the same time.

Perfect for a wedding as in modern times, couples are already living together when they get married, so don’t need to create a list of things they’d like for their home that people buy as wedding gifts. Leetchi would be the perfect answer for this, so that the guests can club together, and the couple can buy something bigger. Or how about if you were wanting to organise a group activity or holiday? Who wants the hassle of having to keep asking for money from people. This gives ownership to the individuals, so far easier.

Starting Point :

Online fundraising with Leetchi for a birthday gift, party, leaving do or community or charitable project, is so simple to set up. You start by selecting the relevant category and giving your pot a name. You then have the option to personalise your page. You can customise the URL, change the collection dates and make your collection private or public. You can add a photo too, and write your own description to encourage people to donate or just to give them a bit of information about what you’re collecting for.

You can even customise the donation options, set a target, suggest a donation amount. How about keeping contributors anonymous, which is a great idea too, for certain circumstances. You can then send invites via email or share your link on social media.

Leetchi is free to set up and once you’ve finished your collection you can spend it for free at Amazon, or have it transferred to a bank account. There is a fee charged on transfers – 2.9% or 4% depending on how much you have collected. Leetchi is apparently the cheapest online money collection tool though, so the fees are competitive.
