Easy But Very Spooky Halloween Drinks

Over the weekend I headed to Giltbrook Shopping Center in Nottingham to get some ingredients for a couple of spooky Halloween drinks I’m planning on serving over the spooky festivities.  So I thought I would share with you what I bought, as well as a step by step guide on how to make each of them.

If you haven’t been to Giltbrook shopping center before, its a great destination with quite a large range of shops like Next, Boots and Laura Ashley.  There’s lots of parking, with the stores surrounding the car park.  There are also places to eat such as Nandos and coffee shops including Starbucks.  We had a good wander round some of them looking for some ideas for my Halloween cocktails.  I managed to get everything I needed from three of the stores IKEA, Wilko and TK Maxx to make two different drinks, one of which is alcoholic.

 

Vampire Kiss (Alcoholic)

 

For this I used :

• Cocktail glass – TK Maxx £3
• Pestle and Mortar – TK Maxx £7.99
• Lollipops – Wilko 99p
• Vampire Teeth – Wilko 15p
• Mulled Wine – IKEA £4.33
• Straws – IKEA 95p

1. Grab a couple of the lollipops and grind them up into a powder with the pestle and mortar.

2. Transfer the powder to a dish that’s larger than the rim of the glass you are using, and another which you need to add water too.  Wet the rim of the cocktail glass and then dip it into the lollipop crystals. You could use popping candy for a twist.

3. Warm through the mulled wine as directed on the bottle.  Once its cooled a little ( I always do this, if I’m adding it to glass just in case) then pour in the cocktail glass

4. I cut the straw in half before I added it, as they were a little tall, and rested the vampire fangs on the side.

Pumpkin Ghoul Mule (Non Alcoholic)

This is a super simple sparkling pear drink with a hint of blueberries.

For this recipe I used :

A pumpkin copper mug -TK Maxx £5.99

Ghost cake pop mould (used as a ice cube tray) – TK Maxx £1.99

Blueberry Syrup – IKEA £3.50

Sparkling pear drink IKEA £1.85

Snakes (in a pick and mix) Wilko 99p

1. First make the ice cubes with the blueberry syrup, you do need to water the syrup down. I did a ration of 1/2. I tried to do it without watering it down, and they did’t freeze properly. I thought they would add another flavour to the juice as the melted, and they did, both of my girls loved them.  I used one half of a cake pop mould I found in TK maxx, IKEA also do great ice group trays like this.

2. Add the sparkling pear drink and the ghost ice cubes.

3. Wrap the snake around the handle of the copper mug and enjoy!
