Do you love World Book Day? For me, it SO not a competitive thing at all. I don’t spend lots of money, if it’s not hanging around the house, then we don’t go for the costume. We try to go for what the girls have been reading, though I try not to be strict about it. It’s all about having fun, and hopefully it will encourage them to pick up a new book, or reread something they’ve loved in the past. It was Pippi Longstocking for ‘A’ last year. It was definitely one of the easiest ones we’ve done, if you wanted to get something together last minute.
Only my youngest gets involved with World Book Day now, as Nia tends to go as a muggle to senior school if they ask her to dress up. It’s not cool I think anymore. This was actually A’s outfit last year, and I found the photos this morning, and realised I’d not shared them on the blog. It’s one of the few parenting thing I do on here now, but I do love sharing them.
So here goes, Pippi Longstocking :
I can’t get over how much she hasn’t changed really in a year! She still has those cute freckles.
The only thing we bought for this costume was the wig, but I had tried to do it with her own hair, but it just didn’t look quite right. Droopy pigtails and all that!
Hair & Makeup
So an assortment of random clothing odd socks and shoes, looking like she got ready in the dark and she was done. One of the simplest costumes!
