Welcome back to another day of inspiration and a brilliant giveaway just in time for Mothers day too. This time with the Vintage Playing Card company. They are based in a small studio in Suffolk, where most of the products are handmade. I spotted this company recently at Libertys, and I’ve been wanting to write about them ever since.
Formed in 2008, the idea for Vintage Playing Cards came when the founder, Tracy Kemp found a beautiful set of art deco playing cards which had a few cards missing. As it was useless as a game, an idea came to make the game cards into beautiful greeting cards. That gem of an idea soon grew into the business you see today selling greeting cards, frames and gifts made, and inspired, from original vintage games. Vintage Playing Cards are sold in shops such as Selfridges, Liberty, Oliver Bonas and Fortnum & Mason.
I love the vintage vibe that these pieces have. I think my favourite has to be the frame that says…’Till Death Do Us Party’, or in the film quote section, ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’!
Vintage Playing Cards is constantly evolving with new designs and products and welcomes commissions. How about you childrens initials, or your partners perhaps?
OK, so lets get onto the giveaway. I have a voucher for £100 to spend at Vintage Playing cards, to the lucky winner, which will be chosen at radom using rafflecopter. Usual T&C’s apply.
