My Summer Wardrobe : New Finds

Though I think I’m naturally more of a winter fashion person. You know what I mean don’t you? I prefer layering clothes, I adore a coat and an accessory of a scarf, a good leather bog, oh and boots, blimey I seriously love winter boots. However summer, is the time you need to switch it up, and I needed to add a few new pieces to my summer wardrobe.

We are heading to Florida soon, and for me the key to a summer clothes when I visit there is natural fabrics, comfort and maybe something to add when you are in the air conditioning or if the evening is chillier. I try to include some of the seasons new styles to my wardrobe, but I am more of a classic dresser, who adds a small amount of more fashion led things each season.

For me this year, summer has been all about the dress, so that’s what I concentrated on adding to my wardrobe, well that and a cheeky midi skirt. That’s a style that’s been around for the last couple of years, but I think is such a flattering length and destined to become a classic. Today I wanted to highlight a company I’ve not used before, but was very impressed with the selection – Fashion World.I was particulary impressed with the selction of summer casual dresses they had.

First up is this navy dress at £29. Great if you like to cover the tops of your arms, but its a light enough cotton fabric to still feel cool. Bardot is the big trend, but it’s a classic too isn’t it? Featuring statement sleeves in a puffball style with a tie waist, frill trim skirt and in a cool crisp cotton material. I’ll wear it with trainers or sandals for a casual look during the day.

Have you noticed how many shirred dresses are around this season? I’ve bought three new ones, including this Joe Browns new one. I think they are incredible flattering and comfortable. I can go braless when I wear them, which lets face it, is the dream in hot weather. This one is actually reduced at just £28. It flows and is cool, with a double layer of fabric in the skirt to stop it being see through, which is always my worry with white dresses. I also love the embroidery, which adds a pop of colour and interest.

Finally a cute midi skirt. I may have added two new midis into my summer wardrobe, I just find them such an easy length to wear summer or winter. I tend to wear a t-shirt or cami with this kind of casual skirt. I opted for this one, as denim really does go with everything, so I can mix and match easily with tops I already have.
