Internal door handles are key to dressing a room and helping to instil a theme into your interior. There is a growing trend for retro-inspired accessories finished in a variety of metallic shades, but how do you create a bang on trend interior that will stand the test of time? Check out these top tips for inspiration on how to create your perfect home.
Stainless steel and chrome internal door handles are the obvious choice for a modern home and offer a level of neutrality that are unrivalled by their bolder counterparts. If you are looking to instil a truly luxurious ambiance within your home, then polished stainless steel or chrome are a fabulous choice. These tones are super easy to coordinate with other accessories around the home to create a high-end and uniform look.
If you are looking for something more dramatic in your home, then there are plenty of alternative finishes available to consider. Black door handles are the latest trend and are surprisingly versatile, fusing across a variety of styles from minimalist monochrome through to super chic Scandinavian-inspired interiors. Black accessories are the perfect way to add a bold feature into your space and are particularly effective when used in conjunction with wood tones, which add warmth and juxtapose the stark industrial appearance of the black ironmongery.
Copper is another option for those looking for something a little more bespoke in their homes. Typically, copper is associated with industrial style properties that feature exposed copper rafters and pipework, but they can also be used to add character to homes that lack any quirky features. Bring this vision to life by featuring copper door handles and ceiling lights paired with plush textiles to add texture and a sense of dramatic flamboyance to your space.
For a truly individualistic space, you may decide to mix your metallics to benefit from the characteristics of each. From warm copper handles to matte black picture frames, whatever your personal style there are plenty of options available to help personalise your home!
If you are fitting new handles to a pre-existing door you just need to check that your new handles will cover any existing fixing holes in the door. When fitting, simply remove the old handles from your door and seat your new handles onto the spindle, securing them on either side with the fittings provided and voila, your new door handles are fitted!
