A new year is always a great time for changes and improvements. Your home is no different. No matter how much you love your home as it is, there’s always room for improvement and fresh designs. In fact, a positive change in your home can kick off a whole range of positive changes in your life and mindset. That said, here are a few tips to transform your home in 2019.
More Space
As they say: “sometimes less is more” and the same is often true for your home, especially when it comes to furniture. It can take up so much room in your home, while at the same time hardly serving any purpose and not leaving you any breathing room.
2019 is the perfect time to make your home more spacious, more open, and give yourself more freedom. So, take a look at your furniture, see if there’s anything you no longer use daily, and give it away or sell. If you do use it but rarely, see if you can replace it with a piece of furniture that serves multiple purposes. For example, you can purchase a futon sofa, which can serve as a comfy sofa during the day and fold out into a full bed at night or when guests come to visit.
All Natural
Now that you have more breathing room, make your home more natural. Sure, we’ve come far from living in caves and eating under the stars, but a part of our human nature still yearns for simple natural things and feels most comfortable in these surroundings.
This can be as simple as buying a few plants for your home to redesigning to add more natural materials such as wood, copper, and granite. Not only will your home better reflect the real world around you, but it will become more fresh and serene. Also creams and dare I say it beige hues are set to be the colour of the year in subtle natural colour schemes.
Saturated Hues
Talking of colour, more and more people are getting brave and giving preference to the vivid purple, the indigo blue, the emerald green, and other eye-catching colours and shades. And, no wonder: these colours give your home real character and fill it with life and excitement!
However, that doesn’t mean you need to go out and redesign your home to be filled with every color of the rainbow in its brightest tone. That amount of color can tire anybody out. No, what you need is to select a few colors that complement each other. It’s very important to find the perfect balance between having enough brightness and not overpowering your senses.
Whatever changes you choose to make to your home in 2019, make sure they complement your home and lifestyle. Remember, your home is a place you should always want to come home to.
