This year I am starting my Christmas gift buying a little early and I’ve made the decision to choose one carefully thought out gift for each person, rather than something smaller, or items that might be more frivolous and maybe never used. One item that I’ve been putting a lot of thought into is what I am going to buy my Mum. Now this year for me has been a really tough one, and the one thing I have been able to rely on is my ever faithful friends and family. They must be so fed up of my need for help and advice. Advice they have given me freely and without prejudice. My Mum has been there for me every single step of the way and so by way of a small token I wanted to choose something for her that she could use every day. That’s why I plumped for a watch. I already knew she loved the Radley brand and this year had been looking for a new watch, so it seemed to be a good fit.
I went for this silver style watch from Watches2U. It has a stainless steel bracelet strap which is easily adjustable and round and clear face. The clearness with the numbers was something I was particularly looking for. I think I’ve come to appreciate how important this is during the lockdown, and I have become more and more long-sighted, so I know this will work for my Mum too. It has a presentation box and actually feels more expensive than its £120 price tag I feel.
It’s modest in style and a real classic I feel, which will compliment how she dresses. I also find that some metals her skin reacts to, however, stainless steel is a good option. You can also spot, I think, the trademark Radley dog on a jump ring to the right of the watch face. You could, of course, take this off if you would prefer. The watch has a two-year manufacturing warranty and is water-resistant to 30 metres. I think a watch makes a great gift, and I really hope she loves it as much as I will enjoy giving it to her.
