I wrote about a button swap a few weeks ago, you can read about it in more detail HERE. Over at the Noodle Bubble‘s blog, she had the great idea that you swap 50 buttons, of any size and shape with someone else. Importantly, ones that you would like to receive yourself. Well I have now received my package from a fellow blogger Martine.
Martine of iMake, is a lady of many talents, including crafting and photography and is from Guernsey in the Channel Islands. If you have not visited her blog before, I urge you, please do. She sent me a link to one of the podcast’s on the site, so I sat myself down to have a listen. It really is so much more than a podcast though! You can listen to an informative and interesting narrative, whilst perusing the links that she has added in the post that are of interest surrounding the podcast topic. I have never seen this before on a blog, and I just loved it!
Well onto the buttons, they are just the perfect mix of vintage and new.
They came beautifully packaged in a cotton bag and Cath Kidston badges. I was battling with the sun light this morning when taking the photographs, not an unwelcome battle I might add. 😉
Some lovely children’s style retro buttons, I think the one at the front is an onion!
Lovely browns, including at the bottom a wooden and a I think a very special handmade button, which is fab.
Gorgeous colours of red, greens and blues. I especially love the striped and deco style ones.
Flower buttons, you can never have enough flower buttons, and these are so unusual.
Gorgeous metal buttons, amongst these my favourites, which are the Reindeer ones in the centre.
What an amazing selection, I’ve not only made a great swap, but ‘vitually’ met another button loving pal. Thank you Martine!
Thank you for reading

Wow wonderful selection of buttons! I bought lots of buttons in the Oxfam shop this morning and will be featuring them in a future Magpie Monday post.

You are very welcome Amanda! It was lovely being your swap buddy. A few of these buttons were new, but most have been inherited from friends and fellow crafters. Some of them have come from all over the world so it’s lovely to be able to share them with you – there’s no way I’ll ever use them all myself. The craft community is so generous with sharing and swapping. Isn’t it lovely?
Lovely to meet you and love the blog!
Martine

They will all be used, even if I use them on things I keep! You were an amazing swap partner 🙂 Maybe we could do a house swap next…how do you fancy a holiday in Nottingham 😉

I am so pleased – and am also delighted with my buttons from you. First buttons, then houses! LOL 🙂
