The whole of The Ana Mum Diary team were lucky enough to be invited to a Polly Pocket Party, at Chessington World of Adventures. We had such a fantastic day, I wanted to share with you some of the photographs and a little bit of why we all invited!
We were one of the first people to arrive at the Holiday Inn, at Chessington World of Adventure. We were escorted into a room full of Polly Pocket. My girls were in heaven!
I’ve got to say it was a lot neater when we first got in, then when we left though!
Miss A quickly sat down and busied herself with the toys. Whilst I took a couple of photographs of the new look Polly Pocket.
The first thing I noticed was, that the Polly figure herself had changed. She looked younger, more like a girl than a young women. My first thought was that this has got to make it easier for children to engage with the toy?
The clothing is mainly printed onto the body, which is a great improvement. I have found the clothing on Polly really difficult for children to get on and off, this is much easier. The shoes, are larger and made of flexible plastic, again easier to remove and replace. They also have suction cups on the bottom, so Polly can stand up! Sounds simple, but this makes it so great for children to reposition whilst playing.
It still is very recognisable as the Polly Pocket that I remember, but it definitely has been improved for the better. Making a firm favourite in our house even more playable!
This is the Polly Pocket house. The other main change, is that all of the extra parts that come with a set like this (e.g fridge, drinks and table) also have suction cups on the bottom of them. Such a great idea!
Back at the party, there were different stations around the room for everyone to enjoy, this is Miss A and Miss N designing PP posters.
I think you can see how much Miss N was enjoying herself.
Here is the poster that she produced.
They both had their faces painted too. Here is Miss N (9)
Here is Miss A (nearly 3) who was very proud of her butterfly.
Miss N even got to make a bracelet.
We were also able to visit the Polly Pocket, best day ever site : www.pollypocketbestdayever.co.uk
This is a competition that Polly Pocket have devised in conjunction with Chessington World of Adventure (who are celebrating their 25 year anniversary) to win your best day ever. All you need to do, is ask your child to write a short description of what they would do to make the best day ever, making an ordinary day extraordinary, and include a photograph or drawing.
The competition opened on the 4th of April online and closes on the 20th August 2012. Please see the site for all the full terms and conditions.

Such an amazing prize!
We then took the short walk from the hotel to Chessington, to continue our day.
Here is Miss A, studying the map. We had a great time, we were having so much fun, we didn’t take that many photographs.
It’s a really big site, which we liked, as it never felt overcrowded.
This is the Madagasca show, on at various times throughout the day. We got there fairly early, and ate our lunch whilst we were waiting. I would recommend this so your children don’t get bored and you get a good spot!
We managed to fit in a few rides, I love this photograph.
Before it was time to head off home:
I think I can safely say they had a fantastic day!
And finally….as a thank you from Mattel and Chessington, we were given a Polly Pocket house. Here are the girls, as they were about to open it.
A big Thank you from us!
Thank you for reading
.
Disclaimer: I was not asked to write this post, but I really wanted to feature it on the blog, as it was such a great day. We were invited to the Polly Pocket day, and as a thank you were given complimentary park tickets, and a Polly Pocket goody bag.

It sounds like such a great day! We love Polly Pocket here, and I agree that doing away with all the fiddly clothes will be a big improvement. I think the girls lose interest much sooner because it becomes such effort to play with it. We have a box full of the vintage PP too and that comes out more than the modern stuff. They don’t make it like they used to!

We have three different styles now. This is definitely my favourite reincarnation so far. It wasn’t until this set, that I realised they were young women before really rather than girls!

Now that looks like such a fun day. Every little girls dreams. xx

It was, a really lovely day 🙂

Wow it sounds as though you had an amazing time! As A is only 2 we haven’t experienced the delights of Polly Pocket, but I have. I doubt that it won’t be long!
Amanda (The Ana Mum Diary) says
I’d forgotten how much amiss N had enjoyed it. We have lots that we had put away in the attic. Now we’ve got it back out, both of the girls love playing with it!
Rebecca says
