I would love to get a little bit more fit and healthier in the next couple of months, in the run up to my holiday. So I have decided to give Porridge on a Tuesday a go. Nope, it’s absolutely nothing to do with porridge as the name suggests. What it is, is a very clever programme, that allows you to create a meal and exercise plan.
So far, I have really been impressed with the plan. The three things I love most about it, is the ease that I can navigate the site. That all my meals and exercise, are all there in front of me. So making it impossible to make any excuses. I love that I can switch from a daily list of meals and exercise, to a weekly one, so I can look ahead and plan.
The other thing is the shopping list. I can generate a shopping list based upon my meal preferences, and either print it out, or use it for my online shop. I can switch meals, or ask for more suggestions, and the library of them seems very big. I have a fairly restricted diet being a vegetarian, but I am also open to try new things, this has just given me a helping hand.
Finally, and most importantly for me, it had encouraged me to try new things, and get out of the food rut that I am in. All of my evening meals, I cook for all of us, with a couple of exceptions so far. There have been a couple that were not to my taste, but thats ok, I can just adjust that if they come around again. For the most part, I have loved the meals, so I thought I would include a couple of my favourites so you could see the kind of things I was eating over the last week or so.
Butternut Squash Risotto :
Feta Cheese and Puy Lentil Salad
I have recorded the exercise that I have done, its a half an hour workout every day. There are even videos to follow. I still need to do more though, I have commited to 5 times a week, and I’m runinng at three times at the moment, that’s something that I am still working on. In the first week though, I have LOST 3 POUNDS! I haven’t been hungry at all so far, but there are a few habits that I am finding trickier to break, one being a chocolate and a glass of wine on a friday and Saturday night. I’ll get there though!
Thank you for reading
