One of the most important things when planning a room, is lighting. It’s important to layer light, using ambient or background lighting, task lighting for close-up work or accent lighting to highlight things in your room your want to shout about. Whilst I have been doing my bedroom makeover, I have tried to look closely at what lighting would work for the room. It was whilst I was doing this research that I discovered BedLight by MyLight. I’ve never come across a product before like this, so I really wanted to use it in my bedroom design.
Mylight is a series of innovative LED-light products designed to enhance one´s lifestyle – delivering comfort and safety in your home. With mylight you can have quality functioning light for practical uses.
We used this pack :
It is so incredibly simple to use and install, that even I could do it! You are supplied with self adhesive tape, for easy mounting of the LED lighting – enough for both sides of the bed. There is a timer control, motion and light activated sensors to attach to replace the need for any switches. So you attach the sensor and the LED lighting, adjust the time to suit you, plug it in and you are done!
Now this system is very practical, and perfect for all those times when you might need to check on the children, go to the toilet or simply get out of bed without disturbing your partner. It also looks very cool when it is lit, and I’m a sucker for a innovative interior gadget!
As you feet touch the floor it activates the sensor, and so illuminates. The light that it gives of,f is a warm glow, not harsh and so really wouldn’t disturb your partner. Because there are no switches to activate, there is also no noise involved too. I love that if Tall Dad (my husband) is already asleep, I can get into bed without putting any lights on. We’ve set the timer so that it gives me enough time do so. You can adjust this from 30 sec to 10 minutes. Enough time to simply get back into bed, take your contact lenses out, have a warm drink even.
This is the light in the day but when I had closed the my blind, so you can see a little clearer the downward pattern of the light. This system could also be used in a child’s bedroom, so they too, could safety get out of bed in the dark. The company also make the lighting for other places like wardrobes or closets. As the lighting used is LED it has a long lifetime, approximately 30 years. I am really impressed, it feels such a luxury to use.
What do you think of my new illuminating gadget?

Oh wow! What an amazing idea – it looks stunning. First I would have to clear all the junk which is under my bed – it’s really bad!
