I give you this review, after a triumphantly good nights rest. I feel almost like shouting it from the roof tops, ‘I have found the holy grail to getting a full eight hours of slumber’. Shall I let you in on the secret, or keep you guessing just a little bit longer…
This weeks I Love Mondays is all about the fabulous company… Secret Linen Store.
I actually thought I was a bit of an expert with bed linen. You would think so the amount of sets I have. I am however quite strict, only buying plain white or cream for my bedroom, never really straying from that, and basically buying the best quality I could afford. Well it would seem I have so very wrong all these years.
The Secret Linen Store (Molly and Harriet) offered to give me a bed linen set to review to finish of my recently completed bedroom makeover. So I had a peruse, and I was impressed with the site. Beautiful photography, really easy to navigate, it looks sophisticated with a touch of humour thrown in. I decided that I was going to be brave and not go with my regulation white or cream, and I must admit I was seduced by the patterned bed linen that they had on offer. I decided to choose :
On the site, there is a useful guide, that suggests ways that you can mix and match your choices, so I used this to decide on a Teasles duvet cover, with a couple of oxford pillow (Usually £85, but at the time of posting this it was reduced to £62) cases to match, together with a tiny strip fitted sheet(£55 but reduced to £33 currently), will two more pillow cases (£8 was £14) in the same design. I didn’t have to wait long before my delivery arrived. It came in a fab brown paper envelope, with the words ‘Shhhh’ and Secret Linen Store stamped on it. The GlossyBox Lady (Miss A’s name for this delivery driver) took great delight in handing the package over saying ‘Shhhh its a secret’.
There was even a recipe in the package from Mark the Secret Linen Store Breakfast chef. Breakfast in bed for two, Bloody Mary Eggs, and a spicy horseradish vodka, they both sound delicious I might just feature those on the blog soon too!
The bed covers looked exactly as I imagined they would, just perfect in fact. So I popped them all in the wash ready to iron and dress the bed, after following the care instruction that were included in my package. I wanted to touch on the ironing a little though. I’m not a lover of ironing, but I do love freshly laundered and ironed bedding, it makes a real difference I think, to look and feel of bed linen. Sometimes ironing bed linen is an arduous task. This was incredibly easy to iron, the fabric is soft, and has an almost silky feel to it. The Secret Linen Store only use high quality cotton from long staple yarns in all their bed linen sets. The linen is all made with 100% Cotton (50% Egyptian) my set had a thread count of 260, however the minimum they use is 200.
Another detail I loved, was the fact the labelling included a tag to say what size it was, even the pillows did. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve struggled wondering why my double sheet doesn’t fit my king size bed. The pillows also opened in the middle, so no more poking out pillow after a few days. Little details, that add up I think.
Overall I am incredibly impressed, this is the softest and truly the best bed linen I have ever used. I can’t wait to see the new season collection and quite frankly I won’t be buying from anywhere else now!
As mentioned I was sent a set of bedlinen, my thoughts and words here are 100% honest, I wish they had set up years ago!

That is seriously gorgeous bedding A. I want it badly! I have been sticking with white bedlinen for ages now, but that pattern has me rethinking. I love the extra touch of the recipes, and the ‘shhh it’s a secret’, and the labels, such a good idea. As for the ironing, I agree, you really can’t beat slipping in between freshly ironed sheets – it’s got to be done.
