There is nothing like a duvet day in the school holidays. Combine that with a spooky movie some Halloween dress up and scary sweets and you got yourself a duvet party!
We watched two movies at our half term duvet party, Miss A, Nia and I took full advantage of a little chilling out together. We donned our masks and spooky glasses, made some popcorn and snuggled down in our a new duvet from Slumberdown. It was the luxury embossed stripe design, so soft, lightweight but warm too at 10.5 tog. I’m not sure what the technical term is for the thickness and pillow soft effect of a duvet, but this was incredibly ‘pillowy’! – My newly made up name for it.
We watched two movies in the end. Into the Woods on sky, which I would highly recommend if you’ve not seen it before. Meryl Streep plays the witch who convinces a childless baker and his wife to find magical items from classic fairy tales in order to reverse the curse put on their family tree. It’s actually a musical, which sounds like it wouldn’t work, but its brilliant, and kept us entertained the whole way through.
The second one we watched was The Simpsons -Treehouse of Horror. It’s actually four scary episodes of the Simpsons on one DVD. The girls thought this one was terrifying and hilarious as they love The Simpsons, though it’s not my favourite, and must admit only stayed because it was so lovely and warm under the duvet.
We have plans to have a Halloween sleepover at the weekend, so if you know of any other spooky movies we should check out, I would appreciate it.
