Today’s the day, I’m going to share with you the results of my detox. I’m going to start this off with details of the name and the links to download the detox that I have been following for the last 21 days :
Download to Iphone
Download to Android
You can read, why I decided to follow this HERE, and the my thoughts half way through in this post. In essence though, I needed to make a change, I was unhappy about the way I felt and the changes that were happening in my body. I’d heard good things about this app, and it suited me to try something that was flexible and would help me to change the way I ate and hopefully felt about food.
The detox itself {DETOX 21 DAYS} is a huge hit in Israel, and one of the top 5 apps (in any category) over there, and that’s how I got to hear about it actually. If you head over to the creator of the diets blog, Hagar talks about how she used her knowledge to create these diets to first help herself, then family and friends and it soon became the huge hit that it is.
Even though I enjoyed most of the recipes, I’m not going to say that it was smooth sailing the whole way. There were firm habits I needed to break, new ones to make and it was tough some days. Especially because I was ill for the later half of the plan. However, I feel so much better for not only completing the detox, but for being on it 21 days later.
Vegetarian Chilli with Cauliflower Rice
Overall the menu that you follow is definitely varied, with three meals and two snack every day. Each of the three weeks work differently on your body. I felt amazing after that first week. I saw a difference in my stomach (my problem area) after the first 5 days, so much so that I weighed myself, and the scales confirmed I’d lost 5 lbs.
There are three main stages to the plan :
1 – Reduce the level of hidden inflammation in your body by eliminating acidic foods.
2 – Cleanse the digestive track of accumulated waste.
3. Speed up the breakdown of fats by combining foods that activate sirtuin, called sirtfoods, which enable the body to feel safe enough to break down fat tissue.

The amount of weight you lose will of course depend on how much you have to lose, but I think there is another factor that will affect it and that’s the amount of water that you consume. I struggled with that at first. I was a person who only drank water in the form of tea and coffee each day, but I gradually increased it, to drinking two litres every day. I feel SO much better for it. My skin has changed, I have very dry skin on the whole of my arms and this is so much better since I’ve been drinking the water. I think the whole texture of my skin has changed.
WATER
I tried a few different ways to do this. So I thought I would list here what worked for me, just in case it helped anyone else.
- You are allowed two instant coffees on this plan per day. I would have a glass of water whilst I was waiting for the kettle to boil every morning.
- A glass of water or a water bottle on my desk, so it was a constant reminder to drink.
- Make sure you either drink a glass of water before your meal or during it.
- Drink the detox water – recipe on the app.
- I used the photograph of the water bottle I used as my screen saver on my phone.
The snacks, were great to satisfy cravings, in fact some of them I actually started craving. Especially the tahini, lemon juice and water dip that you ate with raw vegetables. I think I actually became a bit obsessed with this one. Raw carrots felt almost like a treat, I thought I’d run out of them one day, and nearly had a meltdown!
Now I’ve completed the plan, there are things that I have picked up that I will definitely carry on with.
- I’ve eaten a lot of extra green veg with my meals, and these have been a great way to healthly fill up and something I will definitely continue.
- Healthy snacks in between meals, Almonds, apple crisps, walnuts and dates.
- Today I actually adapted the above snack as a lunch, adding an egg, and a chopped up apple. Delicious!
- More water.
- Decrease cafeine, keeping it to two hot drink a day.
- Making sure I have protein in my meals.
- Using carb substitutes. I actually enjoyed things like the cauliflower rice, and I’ll definitely be making that again too.
- There wasn’t any bread on this diet, and I know I eat far too much of it. I think that has helped trim down my waistline, I’m starting to think I may have an intolerance as after eating some I felt ill.
OK, so the results…..
I feel really positive, my minds is very clear that this was the right way for me to go. I weighed myself this morning and I also measured my waist so if I could tell you if the way I am feeling reflects how I look :
I have lost another 11lbs (I had previously lost 10lbs before I started the detox) and my waist is now 3.5 inches smaller! 3.5 inches!!
So happy about that, what an amazing difference that is, long live the drinking lots of water and the raw carrots!! 😉 I’ll share a photo of myself next week, because I am off on an adventure with the family and it’s the perfect opportunity to do it.

Woohoo. Well done you!! Have done a similar detox, for a shorter time, I know how hard it is. But that it is all about the mind set and kicking habits.
Huge congrats on feeling so much better. I am off to investigate and download the app now
