Are you looking for things to buy an interior loving person this Christmas? Or maybe you have someone who’s just very tricky to buy for, the person who has everything perhaps? Well look no further, as I have some fab things that would suit any budget. I’ve both used and photographed them all, as I really want this to be a post where I personally recommend things that I love.
Starting with two personalised items, I found at Personally Presented, that would be perfect if you wanted to buy something for either someone who loves interior gifts, or even moved into their home recently. Both items were really easy to order, and came within a couple of days, so really quick delivery too.
The first is this personalised street sign – £35. Made from aluminium and backed with solid hard wood. You can personalise this sign with any street name or a family name, as I did. You can also add the first part of your postcode and town of the person too.
You can hang it on a wall, or as I am lean it on a shelf. I think it would great in a hallway too.
The second item I found was this personalised chopping board – £14.99, which I thought could double up as a cheese board. I mean who doesn’t celebrate Christmas with lots of cheese…I think I’m giving away one of my Christmas obsessions here.
The next recommendation is an independent potter (Lindy) that I bought a gorgeous plant pot from last month. You can find the whole collection at Black Dog Pottery, but keep popping back as she is always coming up with new designs. Plants are a huge trend in interiors, so I think one of these would be a very safe bet to buy.
You can see both planters here, a honeycomb style one and the funny face pot, but there are lots of different designs, including more colourful options. There something so cool about getting someone something unique like this, guaranteed to make a person feel special.
Have I mentioned before what my favourite candles are? Its got to be NEOM all the way! This year NEOM has given us this limited edition scent duo – Christmas Wish and Perfect Peace – £49. The smell is amazing, and they are quite different to each other. One very fresh and modern, whilst the other smells of a traditional Christmas, and is very cosy and warm. Neom candles are fantastic quality, the smells being very long-lasting. You only really need to light it for a short while, and then your whole room is left with the most amazing aroma.
- Includes 2 x 1 Wick candles in our limited edition Christmas scents
- This collection contains a 185g Christmas Wish Scented Candle and a 185g Perfect Peace Scented Candle.
I also wanted to mention these storage trunks, from Domu – £54.99, that I added recently to my hallway. I think everyone loves extra storage don’t they, so why not give some as a gift? They come in cream or grey and for me are perfect for putting the hats, scarves and shoes in. They could be used for so many things though.
I always like to buy a new coffee table book every now and then. Something that you can dip in and out of, and is beautifully illustrated, so that’s why in this guide I included the new book, Explorers Atlas – £20
It include facts like :
Q – Where can you find a lake the colour of bubblegum?
A – Lake Hiller, Australia, whose sole microorganism turns the saline waters red.
This is just perfect for people who are curious about nature, love travel and a thirst for learning. It has gorgeous illustrated maps, packed full of quirky facts. We’ve all been reading this one, even the 8-year-old is fascinated by it.
Ok, now this one is very special, how about a piece of original artwork, limited edition print or photograph from Rise Art as a gift? This is a really special site, and one that I have lost a lot of time on, looking and imagining one of these beautiful pieces in my own home.
Here’s how Rise Art describe themselves :
We select, you choose.
We’re curators – that means we use our expertise to find great art, great artists.
And because we’re focused on value, not price, you’ll find art to suit a range of budgets here.
It’s not an online shop for anybody to sell their stuff. There are plenty of other sites for that.
When you buy from us, you’re buying art – and that feels different from buying anything else in your life.
I chose this artwork from the artist Daniela Schweinsberg, entitled Summer Myth. Its living in my newly decorated bedroom, and I absolutely love it. I nearly bought domething that was more midcnetury in style, but something about this just made me have to order them.
“Summer Myth” – 6 pieces as one painting. The composition and the bright summer colours give the impression of landscapes. Can you feel the laziness and easiness of a hot summer day? I love the spontaneity and bold colours.
Of course buying something so personal might not suit, so that’s why they also sell gift cards. It really has something to suit all budgets, styles and tastes. I had fun filling in a quiz to find out what art the curators recommended for me, which I found really useful and interesting when I made my choices. I actually ended up with around 8 pieces that I loved. YOu can even rent the art, if you wanted to.
Sometimes you find gifts for the home in more unusual places. Did you know that Monsoon have a home section? I love the quite opulent styling of them, and I know just the interiors obsessed person I will be gifting these too. Thet smell and look amazing.
Monsoon might not be the first place that you think of, but they have some fantastic furniture and accessories. Theres a cushion actually on their site I’ve been coveting for ages, but I’m on a no cushion ban…well I have been for a while, but I think If I break it will be for this cushion.
I love me a little bit of a retro look, and thats why I choose this vintage inspired wall clock. From Houseology its perfect for all those 50-60s midcentury enthusiasts. The Newgate Pluto Clock has a sunburst look around the outside of the clock face, and looks good in either a contemporary or retro interior.
I’ve for it in my living room, but it would fab also in an office or kitchen I think. From Houseology £140.
This is perhaps a more unusual gift, but one I would definitely love this Christmas. Did you know that Harris brushes (my favourite brand when it comes to decorating) do a personalisation service? So you can your name or a short phrase etched onto the brush. I love this idea, and I’ll be ordering myself one. One thing I have been using is this Harris upcycling kit, that comes with a dust sheet too. It’s only £14.99 which is great value. We’ll be using it for our kitchen renovation, which we hope to be starting between Christmas and New Year, I know totally mad idea! Though I did give them a test run when decorating Nia’s room a couple of weekends ago, and I can confirm the quality of the Harris brushes did not disappoint.
Finally, because winter to me is all about being at home with my family in front of roaring fire…are you with me there?
I was asked if I wanted to review a product, that I just had to include in this round-up as I think its such a fab idea to buy anyone, who has either a stove or real fire it’s the Firemizer – £19.99. Its a light metal sheet, that you basically add it to the top of the grate, or base of the stove and then build your fire as normal on top.
It is made up of a special blend of stainless steel alloys that are patented and welded together to create a flexible grid which is placed on the base of your stove or hearth. The heat is spread evenly to create the perfect fire. Firemizer will make sure all the fuel is thoroughly burnt allowing you to enjoy your fire for longer.
As Firemizer will ensure the fuel is burnt more thoroughly, there will be a considerable reduction in the amount of ash produced and any ash that is left will be a very fine powder with no lumps in it. This fine ash can simply be dusted off before each new fire.
We’ve been so impressed with the Firemizer, I had to include it. Our coal or logs (we use both, but not at the same time) definitely last longer, and it burns much more evenly and there seemed to be less ash to clean too. You simply shake the Firemizer into a bag to loosen any ash thats on it, as you emty the ashes. It lasts a long time too, at around 500 hours, so with the saving in fuel ( full details on the website) its actually really good value. We also tried the firelighters, called fire builders. Now if you are not the best at starting a fire, these are so simple to use and a clean and green alternative.
I do hope you enjoyed this gift guide, please do visit the other two I have written this year too.
