AD/Collaborative Post – This is part of a collaboration with LithoLexal but words and thoughts are 100% true and my own.
Do you take supplements? I do!
I have a healthy diet, I try my best to make sure I eat lots of variety each day, including my 5, 7 or 10 a day. We have so much mixed advice about this, don’t we? However, as I’m a pescatarian and turn 48 this year, I decided I needed to do some research and last year I started to make some changes which included taking supplements. It was a bit of a false start at first I’m going to admit. I went from never taking anything regularly to taking a few carefully selected vitamins. However I kept forgetting, so it really took a bit of time to get used to it. I posted about this on Instagram actually, and a few people suggested I buy a daily pill box. So glad I did, as it’s a total game changer, I never forget now. I carefully research everything that I take though, as I do think it’s important to. I’ve just started taking another supplement – LithoLexal for joint health so wanted to talk about it here. I know a lot of my readers are of a similar age, so thought you might find it useful and interesting.
Why take Litholexal?
LithoLexal® ADVANCED Joint Health – £29.95 for a months supply. It’s been formulated to help support the normal formation of collagen, which is important for the cartilage and the normal function of joints. Targeting the inflammation pathway.
Joint health and strength may be influenced by many factors including :
- Weight
- Smoking
- Ageing
- Week bones
- Weather
- Hormones
- Stress Medication
- Injuries
- Diet
- Alcohol
Why did I start taking them
On top of my age and the dreaded hormones, there was another reason why I decided to take LithoLexal and that’s joint pain. If the weather is very damp my hands do start to ache and coming down the stairs I’m definitely starting to feel it in my knees. So I thought this was definitely worth giving a try.
Collagen formation is important for the normal function of cartilage, however, external factors may have a negative impact on collagen formation. Normally, the cartilage protects the adjacent bones, however, if your cartilage deteriorates your joints lose flexibility. If the bone surfaces touch, it will result in pain and inflammation in the surrounding tissues.
LithoLexal® ADVANCED provides 1,875 mg of the proprietary marine extract LithoLexal® (a plant derived complex) and 10 mg Vercilexal® (cartilage specific proteoglycans), furthermore, the formulation provides Manganese and Vitamin C to support the natural collagen formation and the development of cartilage – the flexible connective tissue important for the normal function of healthy joints.
The product is formulated for both women and men of all ages.
