Money can’t buy happiness, but it’s easier to cry in an infinity pool. And that’s exactly what we’re here to talk about. Even though we all agree that the most important things in life are not tangible, we also pretty much think life would be a lot better if we were ensconced in luxury. Cue George Costanza who spent 10 seasons of Seinfeld wishing he were ‘draped in velvet.’
Still, when it comes to luxury home items, it’s difficult to define what that means exactly. For some that could mean velvet couches while for others it could be an infinity pool. Other people want a man cave or a she shed made out of their garden rooms while some imagine luxury home items as designer furniture. But are they really worth it? We’ve put together a list of 5 luxury home items that you really should spend your money on because you won’t regret it!

Heated floors
Yes, they might be a bit pricey at the beginning, which is why they made the luxury home items list, but you will love them. Waking up on a cold morning, getting out of your warm bed and landing with your feet on the very cold bedroom floor is one of the worst feelings in the world. It’s so bad that it can actually ruin your mood and the rest of the morning. Therefore, heated floors are a bit posh but well worth the investment!

Robot vacuum
Is there anyone who likes to vacuum? Of course not! It’s backbreaking, messy, and makes you all sweaty and grimy. Apart from that, it’s a super time consuming job which only gets harder if you have children or pets. Therefore, a robot vacuum that you only have to turn on and allow it to do the job for you is a modern wonder which will save you from doing that nasty chore!

Spa bathroom

Most homeowners who go for a spa bathroom are the ones who have travelled a lot and were treated to the luxury of spa bathrooms in five-star hotels. They want to replicate that in their own homes. But you can do that as well.
A spa bathroom usually means a large tub where you can soak as much as you want in the hot water until you can feel all your stress melt away. It also has a top of the range shower with shower jets and a massager as well as floors that radiate heat and towel warmers. Top it all off with designer spa and beauty products and you’re good to go. Here’s a tip. If your bathroom doesn’t accommodate all that, you can transform your garden room or garden sauna cabin into a spa and make it even more luxurious!
When we say art, we mean it. In the case of luxury home items, ‘art’ does not stand for canvas prints or wall decals bought from cheap furniture stores or off the internet. It also does not stand for ‘boho-chic’ objects bought at farmer’s markets that have a questionable provenance and may or may not be just a little bit guilty of cultural appropriation. We’re looking at you, ethnic rugs!
If you can afford it, art is a fantastic luxury home item that is definitely worth your investment. Apart from that, if you know how to choose the pieces you buy, their value can sky rocket in future.

Designer furniture
Of course, the number one argument most people will bring to the table against this (pun intended) is that designer furniture is insanely expensive. While that is true, it is also one of the luxury home items it’s worth investing in. There are several reasons for that.
First of all, unlike with cheaper, commercial furniture, the designer type is a lifetime-buy. This means that it comes with the guarantee that it will last you a lifetime. In fact, your children will most likely be able to inherit it because of its high quality. Second of all, designer furniture is custom made and there are typically only a few pieces of its kind which largely increases its value. Which also means that if you ever plan to sell your house and throw the furniture in, it will increase the value of your house immensely.
What about you?

I completely agree on the Robot vacuum. We’ve had a Roomba in our house for the last 4 years and I don’t know how we lived without one!
