There is still a chill in the air, but spring has most definitely sprung, and those April showers are just around the corner. Whether it’s for when we are out and about, walking the dog or for the school run, having a great raincoat is essential no matter what your age.
Miss A needed a new coat, as hers were getting too small, and to be honest we’d made the mistake of not buying a true waterproof coat the last time we bought one, but going for just a fashion brand and we’d paid the dripping wet price! So I needed to get it right this time, it needed to be warm, waterproof and protect her from windy weather. I’ve mentioned before about our long school run, or should I say scoot run, and so performance really was key in my decision.
The coat we went for is from Trespass : Thinking Girls Waterproof – £25.99 it was £53.99 so a complete bargain.
It’s a true mix of style and a coat that actually has all of the features that we needed. With cute coloured polka dots on a white background, it looks great, and feels really spring like. Also two deep (zipped) pockets, for collections of bits and bobs (children are born collectors) and a detachable hood. The hood we tested on the way home from school, and it actually stays up, something we have had problems with in the past.
The Performance Details :
The jacket has taped seams for improved moisture protection, the outer material is waterproof to 3000mm and windproof. The pink microfleece lining, is soft on the skin and perfect for adding warmth. The cuffs have velcro closing, so you can really keep out the chill and wind. It doesn’t have any fiddly buttons, just a heavyweight zip, velcro fastenings and a couple of easy to use poppers.
Miss A absolutely loves her new coat, in her own words…”It’s cool!” I think that and the photo below sums it up nicely, thanks A.
