How are doing with your Christmas plans? My decorations are up, I've nearly finished the gifts (I've just got to wrap them) and now I need to put a little thought into the food and the dining table this Christmas. How you decorate your dining table during the festive period I feel is very important. My taste isn't too fussy (eek, I hope!) and there should be enough space to both see across the table, as well as space to add serving plates and dishes and jugs. However its a time for adding ... read more

Finishing Touches : In the Kitchen
I've not written about finishing touches for the home for quite some time, but with spring here, I am making some small changes, that we've been wanting to make for a while. I've just finished up the conservatory (which I'll cover in another post) but the last couple of weeks, I've been making some small changes to our kitchen. Kitchen Bin Price varies depending on finish and size. We have used out fitted kitchen bin for around 9 years. It was actually two very small bins, that were under ... read more
Finishing Touches : Winter calls for a log store!
Log stores are a brilliant investment to have throughout the winter months especially and can also be used all year around! Wood burning fires are always a widely appreciated thing to have, in particular when living somewhere where winter months can often be bitter and cold. Though the only factor which may come as a nuisance is where to store the wood and the logs? Well, log stores give us a solution to this problem with a safe, dry and well-built place to keep all wood burning logs and give us ... read more
Finishing Touches : Coffee Table
In this post I wanted to take one oak coffee table, the one I have chosen is from the Oak Furniture Company - the Loire and it's priced at £299. It's also hard-wearing, and with a little love, and perhaps paint if you really wanted to really change it up, it can actually last you a life time. I chose a classic round coffee table, but to be ... read more
Finishing Touches : New Bedding
I have always been a bit regimented with my bed linen, well in the main bedroom anyway. I've always gone for plain white, or cream. Simple, classic, but maybe a little boring? Since I redecorated our bedroom a couple of years ago, I've gone all adventurous, and added gold silver and even a little pattern into the mix. I know, I know, as a blogger of interiors I really should try something new. I think the thing is, I want to sleep in a more classic bedroom, relaxing colours and simple, but ... read more
Finishing Touches : Dog Bed
We have a very loved dog in residence at the Ana Mum Diary, as you know. Bennett is the apple of his Daddy's eye, let me tell you! Unfortunately his dog bed, was looking a little threadbare, and had definitely seen better days. So we needed to treat him to a new one. Bennett actually sleeps in our hallway, so everyone coming to the house sees the bed, and it was starting to be a little embarrassing! I was disappointed to find that there was very little on the market in terms of cool design, ... read more
