Eden Hall invited me this week to try out the spa for the day, and one of their new Clarins treatments, and of course I jumped at the chance. So three of my best blogging buddies and I, dug out our training shoes and swimsuits and headed to our favourite local spa for the day.
Eden hall is set it gorgeous grounds, but unfortunately it was a cold, wet and windy day, so we didn’t get to sit out in them this time. It was so welcome to walk into the inviting warm reception though, as we arrived in the morning, to then be greeted, shown into the changing room, where we picked up our robes and towels. It felt like me were all going on a mini break away!
I always feel comfortable at Eden Hall, it’s not too big, and pretty easy to find your way round. As ever we decided to sit in the conservatory for a natter and hot drink at first. It seems to be our tradition now. We all had drinks, and three of us opted for some fruit toast which was really delicious! You can see the conservatory where we were above.
I went for a wander around to take a few photographs as the other bloggers enjoyed a dip in the pool, and the sauna.
Now if you buy a day package with Eden Hall, you do receive a lunch, always one of my favourite parts as its tasty, healthy and nutritious. I managed wander into the rooms where lunch is served, so I could take a few sneaky pictures. It a really beautiful building.
Most impressive are the ceilings.
Clarins being at Eden Hall is a new and exciting development.
Nerys Chell, Eden’s MD commented:
”The decision to choose Clarins was an easy one. We liked the synergy between their brand values and our own. Years of expertise has gone into developing these quality products and treatments which we hope our customers are really going to enjoy. We are truly excited about working with Clarins and getting the new treatments underway.”
I couldn’t wait to give them a try!
There is also a great gym and lots of workout sessions going on throughout the day that you can get involved with. Also a chill out room, that is really impressive.
It was then time for us all to receive our treatments. Two of us (Penny and Jen) opted for a massage whilst Becky had a Clarins make-up session.
I opted for the Moisture Replenisher facial, which lasted 70 minutes. WOW, in total I had 9 different Clarins products on my face including a Lotus Face Oil, Pure Melt Cleansing Gel and HydraQuench Intensive Serum and Cream. The treatment also included a neck, shoulder and scalp massage and even my feet received the treatment oils. I left feeling completely pampered, and my face incredibly soft and moisturised. My friends said I looked refreshed and radiant…result!
Having never used Clarins really before, I absolutely loved the products I got to try.
It wasn’t long before lunch was served, which is a set menu, usually with a choice of 4/5 starters, main and dessert courses. We chatted to the executive chef Ian Smith, about the changes he has made to the menu since he started his role 6 months ago. One of those changes is a noodle bar, where noodle dishes are cooked to order, which is a nice touch. He also filled us in on the fact all of the fresh ingredients are sourced within a 25 mile radius of Eden Hall, with many things like the bread and the curing of fish done on site.
Being vegetarian, often when it is a set meal it can actually feel quite limiting, especially if you don’t enjoy a particular ingredient. Ian explained, that as they cook everything from scratch it wouldn’t be a problem tweaking dishes, and you just needed to ask. There is also a really comprehensive salad bar too, so there is plenty of choice!
Overall Eden Hall never seems to disappoint, and we always have fun, I can tell that there have been tweaks made in the last 6 months both menu and property wise, but for the better I think.

The building looks lovely! I’ve had Clarins facials before and can agree they are lovely – in House of Fraser (in Exeter and Plymouth anyway) they have ‘red rooms’ where you can have a facial with purchase of products. Not many people know this!
